Napier GrassPennisetum purpureumNapier Grass Usage Information In Terrariums: Aerial roots add a real jungle effect to terrariums. They appear similar to bamboo but with the added bonus of the roots. In Vivariums: Works great for that jungle feel, but it also looks interesting for an imitated river and beech wood type vibe. This grass is generally considered safe. In Aquariums: Untested by us. It is fed to cows, but we have not tested in water environments. General Appearance: Looks superficially like bamboo. Older segments have very aesthetic aerial roots one each node. Long Term: In wet vivaria with soil and creatures that eat decomposing matter expect 1-3 years out of this grass on the soil.
